Ding-Dong: Company's Coming!


You know the story - company's coming and you want to impress. After all, being the co-manager of 2 farmers markets, there are inherent expectations, especially when family is involved. It's gotta be homemade and it's got to be from the market. I needed a dessert - hmmmmm! I had a box of raspberries from Frecon Farm and some goat cheese from Shellbark Hollow - and I was in a true hankering for chocolate.  


Thankfully, I had a full carton of farm fresh eggs, and, I'd been squirreling away the bottle of Old Mill Gourmet vanilla extract I purchased back in the spring. Just look at the color of those yolks - stunning! 

I found the perfect recipe - something to calm my chocolate craving - Dark Chocolate Brownies with Raspberry Goat Cheese Swirl! Best of all it was quick and easy to whip up. 

Here it is - and, yes, it impressed! It was chocolate-y rich with bright raspberry flavors peeking through. And the goat cheese - amazing - chocolate and goat cheese, a perfect pairing. I used a fresh chèvre, because that's what I had on hand. The flavor came through beautifully. Leftovers? Sorry - I sent them home with dinner guests. They were just too tempting to keep around the house!
