Position Overview

Growing Roots Partners is seeking a part-time Marketing Intern to support the planning, promotion, and execution of marketing efforts for farmers markets, festivals, and community events across Chester County. This role is ideal for someone with an interest in marketing, communications, and social media who is excited to contribute to a mission-driven organization that creates dynamic marketplaces for local businesses and artisans.

The Marketing Intern serves as a supporting member of the team, helping ensure that events and programs are effectively promoted from early planning through execution and post-event engagement. This position blends content creation, social media management, and event marketing support, requiring someone who is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.

The ideal candidate is able to commit through the Summer and Fall seasons and is interested in continuing beyond a single academic term. Preference will be given to candidates who can commit approximately 7 months (May–November 2026), with the potential to extend beyond November based on availability and performance.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the creation and execution of content across digital and print platforms, including social media, website updates, newsletters, and promotional materials

  • Create, schedule, and manage content for Instagram and Facebook, following established content calendars and deadlines

  • Assist in developing promotional graphics and communications materials with guidance from a supervisor

  • Organize, maintain, and distribute promotional and digital assets for internal use, vendors, and partners

  • Monitor, respond to, and engage with comments, direct messages, and mentions to maintain a strong online presence

  • Help maintain brand voice, tone, and consistency across all platforms

  • Identify and escalate any issues or feedback to a supervisor

  • Attend select farmers markets, festivals, and events to capture photo and video content

  • Assist with real-time content posting and storytelling during events when needed

  • Support on-site marketing efforts and represent Growing Roots Partners professionally

  • Assist in preparing vendor or partner-submitted content for social media use

  • Assist with graphic design and video editing to create visual assets for campaigns, promotions, and events

  • Ensure all content meets platform specifications and brand standards

  • Track basic performance metrics such as engagement, reach, and growth trends, and suggest improvements


Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong organizational, time management, and project coordination skills

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through on details

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort interacting with vendors, partners, and the public

  • Comfort learning new systems, processes, and tools

  • Professionalism, reliability, and a positive, can-do approach


Preferred Experience

  • Interest or experience in marketing, communications, social media, or content creation

  • Experience in events, festivals, hospitality, or community-based programs is a plus

  • Familiarity with social media platforms, content scheduling, and audience engagement

  • Basic graphic design experience or familiarity with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite

  • Experience capturing photo/video content is a plus

  • Current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred


Working Conditions

  • This is a hybrid role based in Chester County, PA, with occasional onsite work at events, markets, meetings, and storage locations

  • Availability for occasional evenings and weekends based on event schedules

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events and market operations

  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

  • Ability to travel independently to event sites and locations
